Heard the owner of the rights to Day of the Triffids had been located, any update on it showing at SF 41? I don't think it's played the 'thon since the early days of the Welles.

Yup, as far as I know this restoration only played once at the TCM festival here in L.A. in 2010. Apparently, there have been rights issues that have prevented its distribution. Hopefully, they will be overcome.

Amazingly, TRIFFIDS played the very first, and then the third Marathon -- and never since!!

One of the movies announced for the Festival is getting a limited release this weekend - DREAMS REWIRED.

Pretty good reviews:

I can't complain but sometimes I still do. Life's been good to me so far.

EX MACHINA was named as one of the Best 10 movies of the year by the prestigious Producer's Guild of America. The PGA is considered THE most important step on the way to an Oscar nomination.

And, THE MARTIAN and MAD MAX FURY ROAD were also nominated. A big haul for SF & Fantasy movies.

Donavans Brain should be a hoot. I've never seen High Treason, so I'm looking forward to it.
