Major Tom was not seen at the marathon.  I guess the snows on Mars were too much.  I hope that he returns next year.  We need his presence and voice to lead us through the 24 hours. He is a longstanding member and contributor to the success of the marathon.  To the veterans, he is as much a part of thon as Marvin.  BRING BACK THE MAJOR!

I bring you peace. It may be the peace of plenty and content or the peace of unburied death.

Major Tom, Caleb our former music maven, three in my group and many many others. It was an odd marathon. And, of the 300 or so that DID show, I'd say a higher percent than normal were there for only part of the show.

It was a hearty group that did show, but, it was too bad that the 40th Anniversary show was diminished in that way.

300 is being generous. Maybe 275 or so.  I may have missed some stragglers but I had made up about 350 goodie bags and I had about 100 or so remaining. My daughter and son and their entire group could not make it. That is six.  I don't know how many of Caleb's crew made it.  It was a decent turnout all things considered and the fact that we were celebrating our 40th helped but there was something missing.  I only hope that Major Tom is back to hosting the thon next year.

Yeah we definitely missed the Major as emcee.
I put a quick salute to him on the Facebook page.
Hopefully we'll be back to normal New England winter weather next year for SF41.

I can't complain but sometimes I still do. Life's been good to me so far.

I wish Major Tom could have made it, I've known him for years and he's part of the marathon. There were a couple of people in my group who couldn't make it.

Or, move to April and not have to deal with the uncertainty

I was so bummed to have missed SF40, but missing 3 out of the last 40 (9, 10 & 40) isn't such a bad record.
I hope you all a blast in my absence.
See you next year for sure.

(Hey Frank, if you have any Flight Pack/Goodie Bags left I'd happily the pay postage to get one!)

Dinner break? What's a dinner break?

I do Caleb but they are all at the theater right now.  Once I pick them up I will send you a message on fb and you can give me the address.

We did miss you.  Did your crew make it?  I looked for them but had no luck..

Hey Frank,
As far as I know they all made it except me and one other guy. By the time they got to the theater our regular group of seats had been taken, so they relocated to the balcony.
