I still have a few movies I want to see before putting out my Top 10 list, but if you are ready post it!

Meanwhile, Razzies came out today. The big "winner" was TRANSFORMERS PART QUATRO with 7 nominations including:

Worst Picture
Kirk Cameron’s Saving Christmas
Left Behind
The Legend Of Hercules
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Transformers 4: Age of Extinction

Not the biggest year for the genre with the Academy Awards nominations unless you count the category defying BIRDMAN (which got a whopping 9 nominations - deserved by the way).

INTERSTELLAR got 5 nominations including Sound, Music and Special Effects.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY got 2 including Special Effects

BIG HERO 6 got one for Animated Film. Surprisingly, but, happily for me so, LEGO MOVIE (perhaps THE most overpraised movie of the year) failed to get one.

The other Special Effects nominees were CAPTAIN AMERICA II, DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES and X-MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. HOBBIT III got a sound nod.

A slight suprise that EDGE OF TOMORROW got totally shut out, and the lobbying for Tilda Swinton in SNOWPIERCER came up empty.

My favorite surprise was the nomination for the beautiful austere camerawork on the magnificent IDA, which also garnered a much deserved Foreign Language nomination.

Razzies had their awards last night but it was not a "big" night for sci-fi, with only TRANSFORMERS 4 winning a couple of awards, including, inevitably, Michael Bay for Worst Director. http://deadline.com/2015/02/razzies-awards-2015-winners-1201378660/

Oscars are tonight. If anybody wants my picks send me a PM.
