Was the MST3K special new material, or just re-runs?

And, why the #$#$ isn't MST3K in regular re-runs anyway? I wonder if it has to do with the rights to the movies they show.

They added some bumpers with Joel plus a cameo by the 'Bots at the end. The bumpers included quizzes that went by too fast to get.

And after watching the Turkey Day Marathon, for those of you feeling sentimental or even, dare I say it, MST-y eyed, Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy will be onscreen in the latest Rifftrax LIVE Thursday Dec 5, 2013 as they present Santa Claus Conquers The Martians in theaters.
Locations here.

I can't complain but sometimes I still do. Life's been good to me so far.
