With the marathon in mind, I wrote this little ditty sung to the tune of That’s Entertainment. 

Everything that happens in life
Can happen in a show
You can make 'em laugh
You can make 'em scream
Anything
Anything can go....

The thing with its’ ship crashing down
Or the pods that are stealing our bods
Or the scene where Darth Vader’s redeemed.
That's science fiction!

The lights from the craft shining bright.

Here’s Klaatu with a warning for you.

Then the plants start to get up and dance.

That's science fiction!

The plot may be bots overthrowing mankind.

Or a weird bunch of kids thought controlling your mind.
It could be one of the 3rd kind.
Where some aliens zap a father
creating a lot of bother

The guy who is traveling through time
A lost world we are waiting to find.
Future scenes that are not always kind..

The world is a stage,
The stage is a world of science fiction.
That's science fiction!

The doubt while the creature’s about
Or the thrill when the giant bugs kill
Or the chase for the conquest of space!
That's science fiction!!

A Nexus 6 model simply wanting more life.
Godzilla on the loose causing Tokyo strife.
King Kong’s an ape
Who won't let Ann escape

That's science fiction!

It might be a fight like you see on the screen
With Ripley locking horns with an alien queen
Or some Shakespearean scene
Where the commander and a girl meet
And id all ends in mincemeat.

The invaders may have a death ray
But they will be stopped by the old USA.
Hip hooray!
