No actual story, just a couple of amusing Behind The Scenes photos from a couple of old favorites:

PLANET OF THE APES (1968, natch!)

...

STAR TREK tv series

Those of you on the west coast have a chance to see a total lunar eclipse tonight. Won't be another until 2014.

Are there theaters up those stairs?

A group of us did meet up at that site this past May to visit the old haunt (on the hottest day of the year!!).

As you can see it's a restaurant. The google earth photo was several years old last time I checked.

I think a nearby futon store might be relocating there. Not sure though. It's a nice futon store. I got my futon there.

Now if we could mix a futon store with the marathon, a nap would be invigorating especially when one of those "special" picks starts rolling.

I bring you peace. It may be the peace of plenty and content or the peace of unburied death.

One of my favorite non-movie related marathon moments goes back a few years.  I was going to lie down on the floor and take a nap.  As I got comfortable, a woman brought her blanket and pillow and set up camp next to me.  Her words to me were "will your wife mind that you are sleeping with another woman?".  Fran and I both lost it.  It was a great line...

Before the board went down I posted the discovery of Gilese 581-D, the first known extrasolar earth-like planet. Now it seems that there is an ever-increasing catalogue which ranks it twelfth in livability. If you rushed to buy a condo there the property values are way down!

Amazingly KOI-76.81 ranks .98 on the earth-like scale! (By comparison Mars scores .66) Maybe all of those planets that looked like Vasquez Rocks in the sci-fi movies weren't that far off after all! Smiley
