since edge of tomorrow was starship trooper meets groundhog day, i will say that free guy is edge of tomorrow meets the matrix meets tron. i may have missed one or two. also, guy is somewhat deadpoolesque. it is an incredible mash up but amazingly it works. a thinly vailed parody of elan musk is the antagonst. like the matrix, viewers will be perplexed by certain scenes such as: how on earth did free guy know where to go to save molotov (female protagonist). and: why is the guard a player and not wearing sunglasses?
btw i also saw this at the discount theater for 6 bucks. i guess we are officially in a new era/world/reality/zeitgeist/
