very good action flick. tight. good performances all around. no liberal agenda. terrific kung fu. full of surprises and best of all; no liberal agenda.
i suppose that very few people are making a connection between this movie and another very popular movie from the seventies. i could not for the life of me remember the title even though i had seen it multiple times. hint: it was very popular on dana hersey's movie loft. i used imdb to track it down.

"No liberal agenda."  Secret Nazi organization uses super spy agency as a front to take over the world? I realize that conservatives don't necessarily like supra-governmental agencies - or Nazis. But it's hard look at the paranoia expressed as being real conservative.
Still,  to have a perspective that finds the major concern about super hero action fantasy flics whether they somehow incorporate some insidious liberal agenda is a more than a little off kilter. Violence as the major theme of any movie ain't liberal. It's not anti-liberal, (libs don't mind bad guys getting smashed) but movies about violence as the solution is per se, not liberal. At the very least it's apolitical.
Your concern is, from my perspective (I ain't a liberal, I'm a socialist) as I expressed above more than a little  .

I wasn't commenting on bias in Hollywood. I could probably find liberal themes or ideology in more movies than you. On the other hand I think that I could go head to head with any listing of lib. flics with a similar list with righty assumptions or themes.
My point was the somewhat wackadoodle viewpoint that the most important aspect of a superhero movie was whether you could discern some sort of liberal bias.
And if you choose to make that your #1 way of looking at something, then to express that re a movie about valiant heroes taking on a Nazi super secret conspiracy seemed a little odd.
Hollywood's major bias is making money. Creators add in whatever ideas or themes attract them and that on some basis they can get moneymakers to fund.

And the most important aspect of Winter Soldier was that more than a half dozen of its scenes were filmed within walking distance of my house.
