Post your comments about the Announced Films here.

First film is the 1951 classic, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL. This has long been our signature film having been shown at the very first Marathon in 1976 (and the second!) It was also at SF/8, SF/10, SF/20, SF/25 and SF/40.

In all honesty they could include TDTESS and Forbidden Planet every year and I'd be OK with it.

Dinner break? What's a dinner break?

I get what you mean, but, that's just not me. I'm not big on seeing even favorites over and over. But, for the Big 50th? You betcha

Hard to say. It's Disney now that controls it. I'll find out

Every year would be too much - except for Duck Dodgers!  So looking forward to the 50th anniversary.

It's one of those ideas that sounds good on paper, but we're trying to GAIN young attendees, not just keep our AARP crowd.

Showing a crop of golden moldies won't exactly grow the Marathon.

Sure, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL and maybe one or two others, but, not the whole batch.

Everyone is waiting for the restoration to be complete on TRIFFIDS. There was a setback when the rights holder passed away a few months ago. Supposedly, he had a succession plan. We'll see. Fingers crossed
