Did a quick calculation of the run times. Looks like we definitely have room for another movie unless we are going to have twenty minute breaks.

We want more!

Marathon Flashback:

SF/5. Cinema II.

The marathon ends. It's 11:35 am. Folks start chanting, We want more! Show shorts! Cartoons! ANYTHING! Rip-Off!

I agree, but, with Bruce B out in Columbus, those days seemed to have passed. He's even sent reels that weren't used at all.

But, there's always In Memorium............

The following is from the Columbus Marathon board.

"Jeff Rapsis played at the CWRU Marathon this month.
He warned us before the performance (of Aelita, Queen of Mars) that we should go for the images because if we tried to follow the story it would not go well.
Then Jeff played an outstanding accompaniment to the movie on his instrument.
What he does goes far beyond simple organ music, achieving swells, crescendos and special effects that are art forms in themselves. He is playing at the Columbus (& Boston) Marathons this year. Do not miss him.

Thars only two possibilities:Thar is life out there in the universe which is smarter than we are,or we're the most intelligent life in the universe.Either way, it's a mighty sobering thought-WaltKelly

Looking forward to the thon!   The lineup looks interesting and there are a lot of movies that I haven't seen or at least haven't seen in a very long time.  Balance wise, it's a bit lacking in recent and international movies, so I am glad that another recent movie was added.

I'm glad that the 1920 movie is being shown.  I had been thinking about finding some movie from 1920 to watch this year just to see what the world looked like 100 years ago.  Love having live music from Jeff Rapsis!

We had to miss last year's thon, so I am looking forward to sharing this experience with everyone this year.
