ROBERT VAUGHN, best known for TV's Bond takeoff Man From UNCLE, has passed. He was Oscar nominated for THE YOUNG PHILADELPHIANS and had a long and distinguished career.

His work has graced the Marathon screens thrice - THE DEMON SEED (SF/5) and BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS (SF/6, SF/11) -which, notably was a sci-fi take on Vaughn's own MAGNIFICENT SEVEN. Vaughn't other genre work included SUPERMAN III, THE MIND OF MR. SOAMES, HANGAR 18 and Corman TEENAGE CAVEMAN (he hated that title since he was obviously not a teen when he made it!). He also had notable roles in films such as BULLITT and THE TOWERING INFERNO.
