The Planet In Earth is in Peril!
Who can save us?J.J. Abrams?...no.
Star Trek III writers
J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay...God NO!*
Now the word is out that "Kingsman" director Matthew Vaughan is in negotiations on the stalled project.
In this truly bizarre article from the UK, the author states that not casting an
Asian as Emperor Ming would be racist:
Quote:No Hollywood producer would get away with casting a Caucasian actor such as Max Von Sydow in the role these days, and quite rightly so. Yet Ming is a pretty racist caricature in the first place, so the script might have to exhibit some impressively tidy slight-of-hand to attract a top actor from east Asia. Ken Watanabe or Chow Yun Fat would make great casting choices.
Racist? Ming was from Mongo not Mongolia! Following his reasoning we would have to get
real birdmen to play Prince Vultan's Army.
