One of the defining character actors of his generation, BOB HOSKINS, has passed on.

His breakthough role in THE LONG GOOD FRIDAY still stands as a terrific performance. Add to that, appearances in MONA LISA, WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT?, COTTEN CLUB and many others.

His only Marathon appearance(s) was in Terry Gilliam's BRAZIL. His other genre credits include RABBIT, DOOMSDAY and the infamous SUPER MARIO BROTHERS.

Hoskins will be missed.

I am in complete agreement with the above statements.  If you have not seen The Long Good Friday rent it.  Hoskins is terrific as the head of a British crime family.  You will also see the wonderful Helen Mirren as his wife, Eddie Constantine, Paul Freeman and Pierce Brosnan.  RIP, Eddie Valiant.

I bring you peace. It may be the peace of plenty and content or the peace of unburied death.
