Is it going to be subtitled? I couldn't understand a word they said in the trailer.

I should not think that we would try to stick it to the guy who has the most to do with our enjoyment of movies over a 24 hour period.  You know.... the whole you don't tug on Superman's cape, you don't spit onto the wind type of thing...  Juust sayin.

my first reaction was 'too phallic'

plus it's got mars and neptune orbitting the planet saturn. neptune is a gas giant comparable in size to saturn. tidal forces would surely merge the 2 atmospheres. the larger northern ice cap of mars is shown in the southern pole. and is that pluto off in the distance? it's not even a planet anymore.

PANTS UP. DON'T LOOT.

I agree. There really is no place in the science fiction genre for that sort of thing.
I'm sure respected character actors like William Shatner

...

and Patrick Stewart

...

would agree. Wink

The comment was in reference to a thread a month ago, in which Dave was aghast at some of the films suggested by ticket-buying board members. I'm sure Dave will once again do a good professional job in the booth whether he likes the lineup or not. After all, working a twenty-four hour film marathon requires that you have...

Okay, RF: you got me.  What I had been drinking went out through my nose when I saw that!
I dont know if it takes...er...those to project the thon all by myself.  I think it has more to do with insanity, idiocy, craziness.  Maybe also stamina, careful planning, love of a challenge....
Actually, to tell the truth, I think it has to do with...well, many years ago, I was head projectionist at the Brattle & the Coolidge simultaneously, when both were running rep, so I was inspecting twenty to twentyseven different movies a week, at abysmal pay.  And I did it because I felt that, hey, if people were going to show up & pay to see these old movies, they should at least be able to see them at their best.  And I guess I figure, if you nuts are willing to sit on your tushes for twentyfour hours to watch these things, the least I can do is make sure you see them the way theyre supposed to be shown.
Watch out if I ever decide to retire again.  As far as I can tell, I'm bringing up the rear...
This one coming up will be number seven for me.
Maybe I should leave a cup out for tips?
     Nah.....
