Title: sciencefictionarchives.com

Fiddling around looking for images for the countdown, I bumped into The Science Fiction Archives. sciencefictionarchives.com
It's a movie archive with thousands of artifacts.
At first I was not impressed as, just as with my home town Rock Hall of Fame, a collection of stuff isn't what it's all about.
But then the geek in me got interested enough to browse. Clicking on "archives" on the right hand side of the home page led me to "objets", a listing of movies that provides access to their memorabilia.

Drawbacks include that it's in French. Mine is okay, but it can  be a struggle to follow through with anything but the pictures of the artifacts.
Basic reactions are:

1. If you haven't seen it previously, their wealth of stuff is worth a glance.
2. The French are even geekier than we are. &
3. Who knew that in France, "La Folle Histoire de L'espace" was - - -Spaceballs 8-)

...or that "Army of Darkness" is BIG in Japan where it's known as:

Now that I think about it, this could be a thread or even a quiz. What are the foreign aliases of famous titles?  :)

Might make a good trivia quiz for SF39

KIROK???

Not exactly relevant, but my favorite one liner ever was from a subtitled John Wayne movie I saw when I was in France as a kid.
Duke enters bar. Says, "Give me a shot of red eye."
Subtitle, "Un Dubonnet, s'il vous plait."

More to Mr. Fineman's suggestion:

Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
In Malaysia: Austin Powers: The Spy Who Behaved Very Nicely Around Me.
Perhaps accurate, but less idiomatic.

:D...Yeah, and I'll bet that in the Italian version he beats up the bad guy, exits the bar, turns around and says "Ciao!"
