TONY SCOTT, Brother of Ridley, and Director of THE HUNGER and DEJA VU as well as stuff like TOP GUN, TRUE ROMANCE and BEVERLY HILLS COP II, died today of an apparent suicide by jumping off the Vincent Thomas Bridge. The bridge, which I know very well, is an oft-filmed location (TO LIVE & DIE IN L.A., HEAT etc.) about a half-hour south of L.A. proper.

Frankly, I was never a big fan of the younger Scott's work, but, you hate to see it end this way.
