Title: Carrie

Yes folks, another horror film classic that doesen't need remaking is being remade.

This one has Chloe Moretz in the title role...pause...oh, right she was in "Hugo". She was also in "Let Me in" and "The Amityville Horror" (05') so she knows her way around a botched remake as well as somebody twice her age.

The film will also feature Julianna Moore, a veteran of the 1998 version of Psycho.

If you can't tell, I'm not a fan of remakes unless they're major reworkings of the story. (in which case they're currently known as re-imagining). For example: None of the three "Mutiny on the Bounty" movies or first three "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" films fell back on rehashed dialogue or even similar character portrayals. The result: good movies that happen to share the same title.

Actually, CARRIE was already remade in 2002 with Angelis Bettis (with whom I've worked) as Carrie, and Patricia Clarkson as the mother.
It's not a great novel, but the DePalma film was pretty effective, and Sissy Spacek was the rare actress to get an Oscar nom for a horror film.
