Title: Star Trek insanity
Post by kirok on Feb 29th, 2012 at 11:57am
a few photos have leaked out as filming starts on st2.

that's benedict cumberpatch as guest villian. he's vulnerable to the vulcan nerve pinch and to phasers. that would rule out the squire of gothos, apollo, Q, gary mitchel. he's to old to be charlie x.

He looks too buff to be the Horta. He's too butch to be a Metron. He doesen't look like Gorn material either. ;)

It concerns me a little bit that Spock is grimacing in the shot. Humans sure, Klingons always, but a Vulcan grimacing? :-?

I guess I'm one of those people who always prefers the original to the remake.  ;)

in picture 2 it looks like uhura was aiming the phaser at cumberpatch's head and she is now taking it off. she was about to take him into custody and beam up to the enterprise but he somehow talked his way out of it. the crafty harry mudd could do that.
where on the web is there an exhaustive study of these 2 photos?

teaser: there's 4 more photos. the structure is referred to as a barge. stay tuned.

Spoilers

Well he appears to be wearing a black starfleet uniform and it would appear that he is not susceptible to the nerve pinch so he may not be humanoid or is at least an enhanced humanoid.  He is giving Spock a tussle as it appears that he breaks free of the nerve pinch.  Presumably, he is hurt by the phaser blast based on the photos.  It is difficult to guess based on static photos without fx.

more photos and some analysis here.

http://trekmovie.com/2012/02/24/more-photos-from-star-trek-set-imax-camera-spotted/

uhura does shoot cumberpatch. but this could be at the end of the movie. maybe he survives the shot maybe not.
he does have a bruise on the left cheek but this is on the opposite side of the phaser shot. it's no suprise that they are shooting in imax.

Cool! Free Enterprise

Hell, this movie would have been a much better choice than Folklore and it is not even science fiction...

OK, I will let it go............ maybe.

it's a wrap on star trek II.

http://www.startrek.com/article/star-trek-sequel-wraps-production

what can be inferred from the inset photo. the fabric could be romulan. it is red and in has the rank insignia on the cuff of the sleeve. confusing!! federation officers wear solid colors. blue, gold, red.

Will the Message Board die like a "Red Shirt"? If so, it's "the most interesting red shirt in the world!" ;)

Charlie X just couldn't stand losing, as Sam finds out the hard way!

This gives me an idea. If the powers that be want to make this board unceremoniously go away like a bunch of Red Shirts, we should change our profile pics in protest. Who'se with me?

I'm in, but there is only one female dead red shirt to choose from. So much for equality on Star Trek.

it's a safe bet that 2 star trek villains/hero's will be re imagined in st2 . my guess is gary mitchell and harry mudd.

While nobody is listed as Harry Mudd, there is a clue that supports the theory. Alice Eve (MIB3) plays an untitled character, as does Indian beauty Nanzeen Contractor, plus twins Kellie and Katie Cockerel have been cast as "sexy girl #1 and #2. Could a re-imagined subplot loosely based on "Mudd's Women" be in there somewhere?

They couldn't put it on the interwebs if it wasn't true!

http://www.eonline.com/news/351450/star-trek-sequel-s-enterprise-is-filled-with-snakes-plus-more-big-screen-spoilers (no real spoilers unless you don't know that "Lincoln" is non-fiction.-RF)

Quote:
Get Those Motherf--king Snakes Off the Motherf--king Enterprise

Get ready for Samuel L. Jackson cussing up a storm in J.J. Abrams' much-anticipated Star Trek sequel.

OK, maybe not, but John Cho's imagination went into overdrive when we recently asked him to tell us something—even the tiniest morsel of info—about the movie, officially called Star Trek Into Darkness.

"Yup, we shot it," Cho smiled. "The Enterprise is filled with snakes, and we have to land it pretty quickly before all the passengers go nuts."

Cho, who plays Sulu, quickly apologized. "We can't talk about J.J.'s projects," he said. "He has implanted a bomb in my heart. If I was to spill, I'd be dead."

Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the villain in the movie, prefers keeping everything a secret. "We live in a culture where there's so much pluralistic overkill and trailers tell you the whole plot of things," he says. "There's so much that isn't left to anticipation when you walk into that theater. You always know what you're going to get."

Cho sounds like a true successor to the wisecracking Geroge Takei.

The Sc-fi London (27 April -6 May) site has a Star Trek: Into Darkness 3D article

Quote:
After the screening, which was introduced by amusing clips from JJ Abrams and Simon Pegg, there was a short Q&A with producer Alex Kurtzman, and actors Alice Eve, who revealed she is playing Dr. Carol Marcus, and Benedict Cumberbatch, who was on fine form for such an early hour in the morning, who announced that he is not playing the much-rumoured Khan, but a terrorist call John Harrison "who does despicable things for a noble cause", which is surely the modus operandi of all terrorists/freedom fighters.

plus a trailer in German.

http://www.sci-fi-london.com/news/cinema/2012/12/star-trek-darkness-0

The german voiceover is as non-descript as the fight-heavy images.

They too have added a quiz:

So long J.J. Abrams! Don't let the transporter door hit you on the way out.

Previous Star Treks and spoofs have given William Shatner, Tim Allen and Alice Eve with their shirts off. I'm thinking..

STAR TREK III:

Will William Shatner be in the "Star Trek III" reboot? Don't ask!

Star Trek 3 Cameo Rumors Anger William Shatner
There was a Twitter misunderstanding....

Quote:
Shatner tweeted a cryptic "I'm baaaaccckk!!!" which a number of sites took to be a confirmation that he was returning to Star Trek, although they were quickly disabused of that notion. After deleting the initial tweet, the actor followed up, writing: “I'm baaaccck in LA. I heard Mercury is in retrograde so I suppose we can expect craziness." And he had some strong words for some of the perpetrators of the, um, journalistic atrocity:...

It's actually bad news. Hey, Shatner is a legend, but, as I wrote when INTO DARKNESS came out last year, this new Trek series must stop "repeating the future".

Yeah, we all know the adventures of when these characters grow up (timeline alterations and all), but, STOP with the references to them and the cameos, and the plot similarities etc etc

Become your OWN series otherwise you will be re-booted yet again SPIDERMAN style.......
