I see that they are running a retrospective on Soviet science fiction films.  I wish that the powers-that-be would try to acquire a couple of these for this thing of ours. 

I'd rather one of the rep houses in the area picks up the entire series.  The MFA had a cool series on Soviet sci-fi a few years ago, though I missed much of it by doing Fantasia (shakes fist at evil scheduling).

The amazing thing is that there was relatively little overlap between that series and this one; Russia and the other Eastern European countries have a long, great tradition of "Fantastik Film", with some of the earlier works far more ambitious than anything coming out of Hollywood at the time.

Rubbish.  I want both. It would be super if the Coolidge decided to run the entire series but I would like seeing one or two of these at the thon.  BTW, the MFA run was a blast and yes this slate of films is very different from the MFA schedule.   

Frank,did you catch a lineup of the films TIFF showed?The only Soviet sci-fi movie played at the 'thon,and that quite awhile ago,so we definetly book one.
